This portable a/c unit is for a room that is about 650 sq/ft with a 500 gallon hot tub in the middle and a 15 foot skylight. Both the skylight and hot tub contribute to the temperature in the room. The a/c handles the heat fine. We never get much over 85 degrees, but the skylight kind of turns the room into a greenhouse, so it feels hotter.The sticker on the front of the unit (very annoying, by the way and requires Goo Gone to get rid of the sticky residue) said the unit could be assembled in minutes. That's pretty true with one exception. The spacer piece for the window has little holes to use for adjustment. Of course MY window width didn't work with any of the holes. That was no big deal, I just drilled a hole where I needed it and it fits fine.The hose from the window to the unit is really heavy duty and makes it tough to get the plastic spacer to stay put. I'm glad the flexible hose is really tough as I'm sure it will eventually get stepped on.The front of the unit is about as unobtrusive as you're probably going to find. The display is nicely hidden and there are no exposed buttons to collect dust and gunk. There is a small remote included that works well, with very few buttons.I'm really surprised at just how quiet this unit is. I've had window units in the past and you could always hear them. This unit was very, very quiet, emitting only a soft hum.The air vent allows you to direct air higher or lower and the entire unit swivels on wheels to move the air left to right.This is a really nice product for me because I will only be using it for a couple of months of the year and will be able to tuck it away the rest of the year.My house is old, so I was only able to place the unit in one spot-- remember to check for a wall plug that isn't overloaded already as this guy does seem to pull a pretty heavy load.
