This item failed after 4-5 months of use. The seller, Compact Appliance (Living Direct) told me to send it back at an overall cost of $75 shipping and $75 minimum charge to look at it. Due to this $150 expense I opted to have a local air conditioning company evaluate the problem. Their conclusion was that the leaking evaporator coil, and no freon, reflected use far beyond 5 months. They also provided documentation to support their analysis. Compact Appliance and Living Direct refused to accept my claim that this was not a new item, and refused to further deal with my problem, stating they only sell new equipment. I have opted to pursue my complaint through Amazon and other agencies. BUYER BEWARE!
