I've owned this unit for 2 years and it runs 24/7 from around May through September. Other than cleaning the air filter there is no maintenance, and the unit will turn just about any room into an ice box. I originally purchased the unit for an upstairs room with western exposure that would just be unbearably hot during the summer. This unit turned it into the coolest and most pleasant room in the house.It is a large and heavy unit, and a bit noisy if you plan to sleep in the room with it. But we did get used to the noise, and it was certainly a fair trade off for the comfort it provided. I would not hesitate for a second to purchase this unit again, and when summer rolls around I am so thankful that we have it. Very well built and efficient cooler.
