Product Description
The Koldfront PAC701W 7,000 BTU portable air conditioner is capable of cooling up to 250 sq.ft. of enclosed space and offers one of the smallest footprints of any unit on the market today. The unit includes an air vent hose and window kit that expands out to a generous 55” maximum. The PAC701W offers features such as a 24hr timer, dehumidifier function (61 pints per day), 3 fan speeds, digital thermostat control with a 61F to 89F setting range, remote control and caster wheels. The unit includes one washable pre-filter and one replaceable silver-ion filter to help reduce pollutants in your air. The unit features an internal condensate removal system that will handle all but the most humid environments saving you the trouble of manually emptying a water bucket. The PAC701W offers an additional condensate drain the back center of the unit allowing for easier gravity draining of the condensate when you operate the unit in dehumidifier only mode. This Koldfront model utilizes the R410A refrigerant. The PAC701W is an ideal choice for consumers seeking a smaller sized unit capable of delivering the same cooling power as many higher rated units.

“The tone of the sound is mostly air movement, but when the compressor runs it has a light, buzzy, reed like sound that is not objectionable. ”
“This was a great purchase, wish I found it sooner. ”
“Also not using the window piece to install properly because I have windows that swing open; not open up and down. ”

Koldfront PAC701W Slim Design 7,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, WhiteThis air conditioner was a surprise out of the box. It's very oddly shaped, like an hourglass but not in a nice way at all. Seems like a bad design that someone decided to produce cheaply. The control panel was also rather, dated and somewhat unresponsive at times. The back vent frame was also cracked on arrival. There are two ports on the back on the unit that seemed odd as well given the single hose provided again seems like another hastily corrected design flaw. The entire design of this product was very odd.We started using the living room and it made zero cooling impact. I guess it's too weak to cool that space. Proceeded to move it to the kid's room and while better, it was unable to cool below 80 degrees from an outside temperature of 87 degrees. This room is a very small room that fits one bunk bed and a small desk. After about 2 days of use it filled up with condensation and had to be emptied. The performance is far inferior to the 5000 BTU window unit I had before which managed to cool the very same room at least 10-15 degrees before it broke down.So to sum it up, it's badly designed, has deficient cooling BTU even though it's supposed to be rated a 7000 BTU and it needs to be drained. Enough reasons for this to be a return.
